Nestled in the heart of Southern California between Los Angeles and Orange County, Whittier College is one of the most diverse liberal arts institutions in the country. Whittier and Knowble have partnered on a number of projects since the relationship began in 2012. Redesign

In 2016 we partnered with the College to redesign the website in Drupal 8 and transform it into a modern, dynamic, mobile-first experience. This redesign was focused on deepening  prospective students’ connection with the Whittier brand and included an evolution of the logo as well as the creation of a video series and original photography used throughout the website. This site was selected by Graphic Design USA for its 2017 Best of the Web awards.

Give Big, Poets!

One of the most important days of the year for Whittier, as with many schools, is the annual day of giving known here as The Big Poet Give. Together, we came up with the idea to produce a video featuring Whittier students and alumni as superheroes who gain their powers through the generosity of donors. The video ends with profiles of several Whittier alumni in their professional settings utilizing their powers. The video was a huge success and helped Whittier almost triple their $100,000 goal by raising over $290,000.


Student Profile Videos

Understanding the student perspective is critical in telling the Whittier College story, Knowble produced a series of student profile videos featured on the website. Not only did it allow us to hit key elements of their story, it was also a way to showcase the diversity the College prides itself on.

Whittier + Global Partners for Development

In 2017 Whittier announced a partnership with The Brethren Community Foundation and Global Partners for Development that created an elite study abroad fellowship program for juniors and seniors. Knowble traveled to Tanzania to film a short documentary on the work being done through Global Partners and Whittier.

The Rock Magazine

Published bi-annually, The Rock is the official magazine of Whittier College.

With a subscriber readership of approximately 17,000, the magazine serves as the primary conduit for information about the College’s programs, people, and activities. Knowble partners with Whittier to continue evolving the design of the magazine and assists with production on an ongoing basis.

New Student Portal

Enrolling in college can be a stressful experience for new students. Whittier wanted to make that process as seamless as possible for future Poets. Working with the College, we updated the look and feel of the new student checklist making it much easier to understand and navigate. The checklist provides a way for new students to complete all the forms required for enrollment and to see where they are in the process.
